Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

At YlemBit ("we", "our", or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our website at ylembit.com or use our mobile applications, including the Physical Chemistry Notes application (collectively, the "Services").

Please read this policy carefully. By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the data practices outlined herein.

1. Information We Collect

We adhere strictly to a principle of data minimization, collecting only information necessary to deliver, analyze, and maintain our educational resources.

A. Information You Voluntarily Provide

You may share limited personal information with us when interacting with our contact channels:

  • Contact & Inquiries: When you submit a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, topic subject, and message content to respond to your inquiry.
  • Beta Waitlist: When you register for early access to our Android application framework, we collect your email address and preferred curriculum track to send build notifications.

B. Information Collected Automatically via Google Analytics

When you browse our website, we use Google Analytics (Google Analytics 4 / GA4, Measurement ID: G-B0167F9ZNX), a web analysis service provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to measure aggregated traffic and optimize website usability.

Google Analytics collects information transmitted by your browser, including:

  • Pages visited, session duration, scroll depth, and interaction timestamps.
  • Referring website or search query that brought you to our site.
  • Browser type, operating system, language preferences, and device category (desktop, mobile, tablet).
  • Approximate geographic location (country and city level derived from masked IP addresses).

IP Anonymization: In Google Analytics 4, IP addresses are automatically anonymized/masked by Google and are not logged or stored on our servers.

How Google Uses Data: For more details on how Google processes data, please visit How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and review Google's Privacy Policy.

Opting Out of Google Analytics: You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits by disabling cookies in your browser or by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

C. Technical Server Logs

Our hosting infrastructure (Vercel) automatically logs standard request parameters (IP address, HTTP request method, user-agent) to ensure edge routing security, mitigate denial-of-service attempts, and debug technical anomalies.

D. Information We Never Collect

We do not collect sensitive personal data, financial or credit card details, government identification numbers, biometric records, or precise GPS location data.

2. Mobile Application & Local Storage Architecture

Please note an essential distinction between our website and our mobile application:

  • No Mobile Analytics Tracking: Google Analytics is deployed strictly on our website (ylembit.com). The Physical Chemistry Notes Android mobile application does NOT include Google Analytics, advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking libraries, or telemetry scrapers.
  • Encrypted On-Device Database: All formula bookmarks, starred topic tags, custom study notes, and search queries are stored solely in your mobile device's encrypted local SQLite database.
  • Local Equation Solvers: All numerical calculations in the equation solvers execute entirely on your device's local hardware without transmitting numerical parameters over the network.
  • Complete Offline Operation: The mobile application is engineered for full functionality in airplane mode without internet connectivity.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data solely for legitimate operational and educational objectives:

  • To respond to your feedback, curriculum corrections, and technical support inquiries.
  • To analyze website visitor traffic, measure popular reference sections, and optimize website loading speeds.
  • To dispatch early access beta testing packages when explicitly requested.
  • To detect, prevent, and mitigate security threats, malicious traffic, and platform abuse.

We never sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information or analytics data to marketing brokers or commercial advertising networks.

4. Cookies and Web Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar storage technologies:

  • Essential Technical Cookies: Required for secure site navigation, interface state management, and protection against CSRF vulnerabilities.
  • Analytics Cookies: Placed by Google Analytics (e.g., _ga, _ga_*) to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data. These cookies expire after standard retention windows (typically up to 2 years unless cleared sooner).

You can configure your browser to reject all cookies or notify you when a cookie is set. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from viewing equation references on our website.

5. Disclosure and Sharing of Information

We disclose information only under specific, necessary conditions:

  • Infrastructure & Service Providers: Trusted technical service providers (including Vercel for website hosting and Google LLC for aggregated analytics) who operate under strict confidentiality and data protection agreements.
  • Compliance with Legal Process: If required by applicable law, court order, subpoena, or lawful governmental authority.
  • Protection of Rights & Security: When necessary to enforce our Terms of Service or protect the security, safety, and integrity of YlemBit systems.

6. International Data Transfers & Security

Because our hosting and analytics infrastructure partners operate globally, information collected via our website (including Google Analytics data) may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. These providers maintain certified data transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to safeguard your data.

We implement modern technical protections—including HTTPS/TLS transmission encryption, Content Security Policies, and input sanitization—to safeguard data against unauthorized access or tampering.

7. Student and Children's Privacy

YlemBit provides educational revision tools tailored for students preparing for high school, university, and competitive STEM examinations. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by GDPR/local regulation). If we discover that personal data from a child has been collected without verified parental consent, we will take immediate measures to delete that information.

8. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA), you may have the following rights:

  • Access & Portability: The right to request copies of personal information held about you.
  • Rectification: The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Erasure: The right to request deletion of your personal communications records.
  • Objection & Restriction: The right to object to or restrict processing of your personal data.
  • Opt-Out of Analytics: The right to opt out of web analytics tracking at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please submit a request via our Contact Form.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational updates, technological changes, or legal obligations. When updates occur, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of our Services after revisions indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Contact Us
